The Buddhist Cultural Center Letchworth (BCCL) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on Saturday, 8th April 2017 at The Free Church Hall, Norton Way, Letchworth. The chief guest was Hon. Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, representing His Excellency the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in The United Kingdom.

Letchworth Buddhist Temple Celebrated The 69th National Independence Day on Sunday

The Buddhist Community Centre Letchworth (BCCL) held the 2016 Katina Ceremony on 15th October, 2016 at the Free Church Hall, Norton Way, Letchworth Garden City. This year the Katina Poojava (Katina offering) was sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Ravi Perera & Family, Mr. & Mrs. Neelaka & Family, Mr. & Mrs. Akurugoda & Family, Mr. & Mrs. Dassanayake & Family, Dr. & Mrs. Waidyaratne & Family and Mrs. Chandra & her family and all their friends.

The Poson celebration commenced by observing sil (retreat) by devotees on Saturday,18th June at Letchworth Buddhist Temple. The sil program was guided by the Chief Incumbent Ven. Dediyawala Wimala Thero., Ven. Mathugama Palitha Thero. covering meditation, Dhamma sermons, Abhidhamma discussion, Buddha pooja  and invoking blessings to all. The mid day Dhana (lunch) for Maha Sangha and sil observers was offered by Mr. and Mrs. Dhammika & Osadhi and family. Mr and Mrs. Dhaminda & Ashani  and Mr. and Mrs. Gayan & Thanuja Rathnaweera offered breakfast and Kola Keda and evening tea and belly mal drink was offered by Mr. & Mrs. Rajinda & Pulani Wewalage.  

Letchworth Buddhist Temple arranged a special sil day (retreat) for children on Saturday, 28th May 2016 at the temple premises to celebrate Vesak Poya. The sil program was guided by resident monk Ven. Sooriyawewa Kusala Thero. The sil program included meditation, Dhamma sermon, presenting a video documentary on life of Buddha and kept the children occupied in seela. Ven. Kusala Thero. conducted the mid day Buddha Pooja and invoked blessings to all.  A large number of children participated in the sil program.
