The Buddhist Cultural Center Letchworth (BCCL) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on Saturday, 14th April 2018 at The Free Church Hall, Norton Way, Letchworth. The chief guest was Hon. Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in The United Kingdom, Mr. Sugeeshwara Gunaratna and the distinguish guests were the veteran musician and actor Mr. Bandula Wijeweera and the famous TV broadcaster, journalist from Sri Lanka Mr. Narada Wijesuriya.

The chief guest and the distinguished guest were Mr. Manoj Warnapala the cultural affairs secretary of the Sri Lankan High Commission, representing His Excellency the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in The United Kingdom and the Leader of the Letchworth District Council, Councilor Mrs. Lynda Needham.

2014 Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration was held by Buddhist Community Center Letchworth (BCCL) on 19th April 2014 at St. George’s Church Hall, Common View, Letchworth Garden City. The distinguish guests were Mr. H.M.K. Herath, The First Secretary of Sri Lankan High Commission, London and Dr. Mrs. Kokila Vaidyarathne, Minister, of Sri Lankan High Commission, London.
