The Vesak celebration was held by Buddhist Cultural Center Letchworth (BCCL) on 25th and 26th May, 2013. A special retreat (Sill program) was arranged at the temple premises with the guidance of the resident monk ven. Mathugama Palitha Thero. on Saturday 25th May. There was a large turnout of devotees who observed Sill.

The day’s program commenced by Ven. Mathugama Palitha Thero conducting the Astangha Maha Seela to the devotees. Throughout the day ven. Palitha Thero. guided the devotees who observed sill (retreat) with meditation sessions, Dhamma sermon, Dhamma discussion and Buddha Pooja. The sill program ended in the evening by invoking blessings to all by Ven Palitha Thero.

In the afternoon, on 26th May, 2013 the Vesak Celebration was held at the Harward Hall, Norton-Way, Letchworth. The resident Ven. Monk Mathugama Palitha Thero observed the five precepts followed by the Dhamma sermon at the beginning of the program.
