2018 Vas Aradhana at Letchworth Buddhist Temple 

The traditional “Vas Aradhana" for Venerable Monks to observe Vas season (Retreat for Ven. Monks) was held at 6.00 p.m. on Friday, 27th July 2018 at The Letchworth Buddhist Temple. This year the ceremonial Vas Arhadhana, (inviting the Ven. Monks to observe retreat) was carried out by

Mr.Priyantha Bandara, Mr. & Mrs. Mallawarachchi and family, Mr.& Mrs. Amarasooriya and family, Mr.& Mrs. De Silva, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Weerasekara, and friends. Mr.& Mrs. Gunathilaka, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Dharmasena, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Gamage, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Ranasinha, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Welengoda, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Karavita, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Perera, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Fernando, and family. Mr.& Mrs. Kodagoda, and family. The invitation was kindly accepted by The Chief incumbent of the Letchworth Temple Most Ven. Dediyawala Wimala Thero, and Ven. Sooriyawawa Kusala Thero.

The evening Buddha Pooja, chanting of seth pirith and invoking merits to all was carried out with the leadership of Ven. Dediyawala Wimala Maha Thero.  The ceremony was well attended by the devotees and friends of the Letchworth Temple.

During the Vas season, the Ven. Monks will be carrying out special evening Buddha Pooja, Dhamma sermons and Chanting Seth Pirith, every month on last Saturday evening at 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. This event will be carried out in a church hall, in Letchworth and an email will be sent closer to the event with the program.

The monk’s retreat will end with the Katina Ceremony on Saturday, 27th October 2018.  All are welcome to attend these meritorious services.
